Due to the rapid growth of the business, the Unibet project aimed to amalgamate a number of premises spread across Sydney into a specialised and central location. The fitout featured a 12 metre putting green, table tennis table, dart board, polished concrete floors, exposed concrete slab ceilings and white-sprayed services, vinyl graphics and sporting collages, feature lighting, boardroom, flexible meeting rooms, quiet rooms and open plan workstations designed to create a workplace staff enjoyed coming to while also impressing competitors and prospective clients.
Due to the nature of the business there were a number of strict security protocols that needed to be adhered to. Access to the floor and restricted areas were via a swipe card and pin combination with all entries and exits monitored with CCTV cameras and alarms. All these security measures were also hosted on Kindred’s Belgium security server and could be viewed live globally.
A dedicated UPS was installed to back-up all power to the traders’ area to ensure there was no loss of trading during their 24/7 operation. The UPS was located in the 40m2 communications room which also housed five 48 RU racks, security control panel and a Computer Room Emergency Monitoring System (CREMS).
As Unibet forms part of the Kindred Group globally, their fitout needed to meet the design standards of their European branches. This created challenges where equipment and finishes needed to be sourced from Europe over the Christmas period with a short construction period. These challenges were mitigated through early identification and constant tracking and communication with local/international stakeholders.
