The Y3A Café refurbishment at Macquarie University, was conceived for the purpose of creating a vibrant and more attractive space for the university’s students and staff. The works included the demolition of front and back of house kitchen, the provision of all the kitchen services, equipment and finishes in compliance with AS 4674-2004 Commercial Fitout of Food Premises. The project showcases a modern design by Architectus with timber ceilings, dark and light oak furniture finishes and a concerete-look kitchen countertop.
Building Y3A is home to the Faculty of Arts, simulation hubs and audio booths therefore consideration to the noise-sensitive environment was key in the renovation process. Constant communication and planning allowed Graphite to execute the works in a timely and non-disruptive manner.
