A luxury Car Studio in Australia’s premier retail shopping mall, who would have thought? The clever people at Genesis, that’s who.
With the brand theme of ‘Uncommon Luxury,’ the team at Genesis Motors Australia is redefining luxury with an audacious move away from convention. Uncommonly located in Pitt Street Mall at the corner of Sydney Arcade, the new Genesis Studio is the benchmark in Automotive Studios in Australia.

Adhering to strict design from SUH Architects of South Korea, the studio features bespoke finishes throughout.
Graphite Projects was engaged as Construction Manager for the delivery of the project following an ECI (early contractor involvement) period. The competing objectives of time-cost-quality were constantly under challenge; however, it was clear that quality was not to be compromised.
All finishes and details were submitted to SUH Architects for approval, at times slowing the process, but ensuring that the final result met Genesis global requirements. Wall, floor, and ceiling finishes are all meticulously hand crafted and finished to exacting standards.

A feature of the fitout, the world’s first 5.7 metre diameter, 11 metre high semi-transparent LED screen, wraps around a new circular staircase in the two-level fitout.
Client-side project manager Impact Group ensured that collaboration was at the forefront of everyone’s mindset, right through to project completion.
Graphite worked closely with local design teams (listed below), to ensure that many design challenges and project constraints were overcome.
When it became apparent that the installation of the originally planned vehicle crane system was not viable, Graphite explored and implemented a demountable hoisting system to raise the vehicles from ground floor to level one. This initiative provided Genesis with significant cost savings, not to mention the aesthetic advantage it delivers.
The tenancy, previously Billabong’s Sydney flagship store, was stripped back to a bare shell prior to Genesis taking the space. New building services infrastructure was installed throughout, logistically challenging given the 9 metre floor to ceiling height on the upper level. A new lift was also installed. These works were also undertaken by Graphite in conjunction with EVC on behalf of Investa.
Graphite is delighted to have been an integral part of such a landmark project for Genesis Motors Australia. A huge thanks to the consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors for their commitment to this project.
